Basics of Drupal Part II - User

You are here

The second step to maintain your Drupal site is to configure the Users. The access to your Drupal site can be maintained by defining user roles (user groups). Drupal 6 comes with 2 default roles as Authenticated User and Anonymous User where as Drupal 7 comes with 1 additional role which is Administrator. You may create as many roles as you require from Editor, Director to Student or Teacher according to your Organizational structure or business needs.

Once you have setup roles you should assign appropriate permissions per user role which indicates the access privilege to individual modules, content types and fields (which was covered in the previous issue).
